Ep. II S 2. Proxima erat Hortemu sententia guum Lupus, tribunas pl.‚ quod ipse de Pompeio retulisset, intendere coepz t ante se 0portere diecessionem facere guam consuke. Wieland übersetzt diese Worte so: „wie hierauf über die Mei nung des Hortensins gestimmt werden sollte, erhob sich der Tribnn Lupus und behauptete: da er bereits in der vorletzten Session auf den Pompejus angetragen habe, so sei er berechtigt zu verlangen, dass der Senat über seinen Vortrag zuerst stirhme. Bruwaan erzählt 2, S. 538 Anm. 2 auf Grund der vorstehenden Stelle: „als man über Hortensius Vorschlag stimmen wollte, verlangte Lupus, dass der eeim ge als der ältere vorgehe. Beide, Wieland und Drumann haben nicht erwogen, dass nir gende ein Anhaltspunkt geboten wird zu der Annahme, dass Lupus in der Priorität seines Antrages die Begründung seiner Forderung fand. Ja die Voraussetzung selbst, dass der Antrag des Lupus der ältere gewesen sei, entbehrt wenigstens im Sinne Wielands jeder Begründung. Denn mag auch der Tribnn Lupus sofort nach Eröfl nung der Debatte sich an den Vortrag des vor sitzenden Consuls mit seinem bestimmt formulierten Antrage an geschlossen haben, so gilt doch was Wieland hervorhebt: „da er bereits in der vorletzten Session auf den Pompejns angetragen habe, auch von den beiden anderen Vorschlägen. Im vorher gehenden Briefe wird jener neben diesen aufgeführt und zwar an letzter Stelle, ohne dass wir übrigens auch darin über das Früher oder Später des einen oder andern Antrags eine Andeutung finden dürfen; denn die gewählte Reihenfolge kann leicht dadurch ver.
