product description:

Our aluminum interframe build SF folders share a unique design offering a combination of Carson Series features requested by military procurement specialists. The deep-bellied spear point blades were specified because they offer maximum strength. The open build allows two Carson flippers to be incorporated, resulting in a true hilt - very rare in folding knives. M21-14SF aluminum. Our production aluminum frame SF is based on kit Carson s custom designs, with contoured handles of black, hard anodized 6061 T6 aluminum, with a perimeter radius. Stainless steel locking liners with friction grooves give positive locking. Blade steel is AUS 8 stainless with a combined razor-sharp and triple-point serrated edge. Blade, frame and hardware are non-reflective Tactical black. The blade receives a black titanium Nitride coating for maximum corrosion resistance. Kit s trademark dual checkered thumb studs are standard. One-hand opening and closing is quick and smooth. It also features our exclusive patented auto lawks, the lake and Walker knife safety innovation taken to the next level. Auto lawks automatically sets a pin between the locking liner and the frame. This pin acts as an additional layer of safety, so the locking liner is less likely to disengage during use. To close the knife, pull the auto lawks Red button lever back, slide the locking liner over, and fold the blade into the closed position.. all knives in this Series are equipped with clip options that allow four-position carry on belts or webbing.

It also features CRKT s exclusive patented AutoLAWKS automatic safety, which turns the folder into a virtual fixed blade automatically.

AutoLAWKS Knife Safety

An automatic safety mechanism for folding knives, AutoLAWKS was invented by Columbia River Knife & Tool as an enhancement to Ron Lake and Michael Walker s design to prevent the locking liner from accidentally releasing when the knife is open and locked. As the folder blade is locked in place by the locking liner, the spring-loaded AutoLAWKS lever rotates forward, and the metal tang comes between the locking liner and frame to ensure that the folder is a virtual fixed blade. It is very difficult, if not impossible, to accidentally release the liner lock when the AutoLAWKS lever is activated and if the blade pivot is properly adjusted.
