Bored by regular wavy and curly hairstyles? We have a brand new idea for you! What about crimped hair? If you want to try it (and, actually, you should), follow our guide to the best hair crimpers we offer.
How Do I Use a Hair Crimper?
The most universal instruction:
1.Wash your hair, blow- or air-dry it.
2.Turn on your crimping iron.
3.Brush locks thoroughly.
4.Apply a heat protectant.
5.Take a 2-inch section of hair, clamp the crimper close to the roots (or in any other way you decide), and hold for 2-8 seconds (read more about timing below).
6.Release the plates, match the utmost wave with crimping plates.
7.Repeat steps 5 and 6.
8.After processing all strands (or several isolated strands), brush them for more volume or just run your fingers through your crimped hair strands.
9.Finish styling by using a hairspray.
What Temperature Mode Should I Choose for My Hair Texture?
The instructions may vary for different demands, but in general:
for fine, thin or damaged hair choose the lowest mode, 220-300° F;
for normal, style on 300-350° F could keep healthy hair;
for thick, naturally curly or dense locks you may need 350-380° F.
