The David Ellis "Hybrid" Signature Practice Pad features a 13" signature blue graphic playing surface. This protective surface enhances stick articulation and simulation like a high tension marching drum head. A hard rubber rim is applied around the perimeter of the playing surface to replicate an actual rim. The back side of the pad features a mini quint tenor layout for practicing exercises, patterns, developing muscle memory and writing music. The 3" center spot on the backside can also be used as a focus spot for working on precision. The Blue Nylon material surrounding the five tenor spots serves as a moderate workout practice surface. Snare Basket Receivers on the bottom allow the pad to be firmly held on top of the snare basket, rather than awkwardly within it. The pad base is constructed from Baltic Birch providing excellent durability, solid feel and pitch. Fits inside a 14" hoop on a snare drum.
