This rare long-leaf Oolong tea is collected from Wuyi Mountain Reserve located in Fujian Province, China. Its character is woodsy with resonant notes of muscatel. This tea may be steeped multiple times. Legend has it that the mother of a Ming Dynasty Emperor was healed of illness by drinking tea from this species. Out of gratitude, the Emperor sent four giant red robes to clothe the four bushes from whence the leaves were collected. Three of the bushes that date back to the Song Dynasty are reportedly still alive to this day on Wuyi Mountain and are highly revered.
